Stephanie Comfort

Stephanie Comfort ‘85

Stephanie is Executive Vice President, Corporate Strategy and Development, with CenturyLink in the Denver area. Previously, she spent nine years leading Qwest’s corporate strategy organization, was a port olio manager and strategist with Morgan Stanley, and worked at Salomon Brothers and Wertheim Schroder & Co. She is a member of the board of the Christopher J. Georges Journalism Foundation at Harvard University and a trustee of Colorado Academy.  Stephanie received her MBA from the Wharton School of Business.


 

Lisa Dennison ’75

Lisa is chairman of Sotheby’s, North and South America, a post she has held since since 2007. Previously, she was director of the Guggenheim Museum in New York and prior to that, deputy director and chief curator of its foundation. She is the author of more than 25 essays in catalogues that accompanied the exhibitions she organized for the Guggenheim and for major institutions around the world and serves on the boards of directors of the American Association of Museum Curators and the Byrd-Hoffman Foundation. She is a  founding member of the Creative Arts Advisory Board at Brown University and a member of the International Advisory Board of the Louise T. Blouin Foundation. Lisa earned her MA in art history from Brown University.


 

Carol Herring ’61

Carol is the president of the Rutgers University Foundation and executive vice president for development and alumni relations for Rutgers.  Previously she served as vice president for external affairs with the Asia Society (2000-2005), vice president for development and alumnae affairs at  Barnard (1990-2000), and for the prior fifteen years, as assistant to the president for special projects and director of leadership gifts at Princeton.

 


Melissa King ‘92

Melissa, now a student at the Stanford Graduate School of Business,  served as executive director of the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine, established by the California voters in 2004. Prior to that, she had 10 years’ experience in public relations, corporate communications and internal communications, serving in vice president and director roles at Phase Two Strategies, Outcast Communications and Nextset Software. She was also program director of operations and communications with the California Research and Cures Coalition.  Melissa is the past-president of the Northern CA Wellesley Club and is on the board of the Wellesley Alumnae Association and advisor to the president of the Roman Reed Foundation.  For fun, she swims in the San Francisco Bay, recently set a women's relay record to the Farallon Islands, and is training to traverse the Engish Channel.

 


Denise Martin '85

Denise is a senior vice president and partner at NERA Economic Consulting, where she also serves as the employment and labor practice chair. She has taught industrial organization and microeconomics at both the graduate and undergraduate levels and was awarded the Peggy Howard Fellowship in Economics and the Danforth Prize for Teaching. Previously she was the assistant economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. Denise earned her MA and PhD in economics at Harvard University.

Mary McBride

Mary McBride ’77

Mary is the chief banking officer of CoBank, ACB, where she is responsible for all lending functions, including agribusiness, strategic relationships, rural infrastructure and banking services. She is also a member of the management executive committee among others. Previously, as CoBank's chief operating officer, Mary managed corporate finance, capital markets, operations and the communications and energy banking group. She was a member of the Biomass Research and Technical Advisory Committee which provides recommendations to the US Department of Agriculture and Department of Energy.  Mary is a board member and treasurer of the Denver Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and a member of the WiseWomen Council of the Denver Women’s Vision Foundation. She received her M.Sc. in European studies from The London School of Economics and an SM in Management  from the Sloan School of Management at MIT.

 


Kristin Pearson ’85

Kristin is executive vice president, of content publishing and corporate communications at Krames Staywell. Formerly she was executive vice president at Staywell Custom Communications; vice president, strategy and network development at West Suburban Health Care; administrative director, women's health services, at Loyola University Health System; a senior consultant in the health care practice at Arthur D. Little, and a senior marketing research coordinator at the New England Journal of Medicine. Kristin received her  MBA in corporate strategy and marketing at the University of Michigan.

 


Bettina (Betsy) Plevan ’67

Betsy is a partner in the labor  and  employment department at Proskauer, Rose LLP in New York City as well as co-head of the international Labor and Employment Group and the Class/Collective Action Group. She served as president of the New York City Bar from 2004-2006.  mary received her JD from Boston University Law School.

Rini Mariani Soemarno ‘81

Rina is president  and commissioner of Darma Henwa Tbk. Formerly she was the Minister of Trade and Industry for the Republic of Indonesia, deputy of the National Banking Restructuring Board (BPPN), finance director of Astra International Tbk, and vice president , Citibank N.A. Jakarta.



Karen Twitchell '77

Karen is executive vice president and chief financial officer of Landmark Aviation. Prior to that she was vice president and treasurer  of Lyondell Basell Industries and Lyondell Chemical Company; vice president and treasurer of Kaiser Aluminum Corporation and Southdown, Inc.; and an investment banker with Credit Suisse First Boston. She is a member of the board of directors, KMG Chemicals, Inc. Karen received her MBA from Harvard University.
