The BLC Mission Statement

Background

The Business Leadership Council of Wellesley College was formed in 1989 by a small group of alumnae who had a common bond based on their acknowledged positions of executive leadership and a Wellesley education. Recognizing the leadership preparation they received from Wellesley, the Business Leadership Council was formed with the intent to give back to the College, its constituents and its wider community through the unique talents of its members.

The founders believed that, acting collectively, this group of alumnae business leaders (both for-profit and non-profit), could contribute their special gifts more effectively on behalf of Wellesley, while at the same time giving friendship and support to each other.

The BLC is specifically dedicated to excellence in education, to leadership, empowerment and opportunity for all women; to lifelong learning; and to service to the College and to society.

Mission Statement

To make available to the College as requested, alumnae executive leadership and experience in support of Wellesley's mission: "To provide an excellent liberal arts education for women who will make a difference in the world," and to provide peer support and continuous learning to its members.
